About the event

This is a foraging walk for the whole family finished with a picnic of foraged snacks. Come and spend time connecting with the plants that surround you and all they can offer. Through the year we’ll visit different locations and see plants in their different stages. We’ll learn the basics of plant identification and safety and I always encourage sustainable foraging. We share these plants with other living beings and only take with gratitude what will not be missed.

Autumn is full of berries, nuts and roots. The energy of the plants has gone into the seeds, or is slowly going to sleep in the root through the winer. We’ll look at a variety of berries and talk about ways we can preserve them for later in the year to enjoy their goodness in any season. And we’ll talk about roots and how to add them to our daily cooking. We’ll share knowledge, recipes and tips and tricks on how to use wild plants in the home, kitchen and garden.
