About the event
This is a foraging walk for both adults and children (accompanied kids go free) including a picnic of foraged snacks and a tea that I’ll provide. Come and spend time connecting with the plants that surround you and all they can offer. Through the year we’ll visit different locations and see plants in their different stages. We’ll learn the basics of plant identification and safety and I always encourage sustainable foraging. We share these plants with other living beings and only take with gratitude what will not be missed.
Join me on this walk and learn about some of our local superfoods. Yes superfoods, because wild edibles are just packed with nutrition, full of vitamins, minerals and trace elements to nourish your body. We will look at some of our most common weeds and how to use them not just in the kitchen.
We’ll try out some seeds and berries that are in season and perfect for harvest, share recipes and useful tips and tricks. Depending on the weather we might find some mushrooms at this time of the year and we will look into basics of mushroom foraging. The talk is suitable for people with no previous experience and for people who want to progress on their journey of connecting with wild plants.
